Get a notification when your favourite outlet publishes
One tap on the Alerts bell. Bundled hourly, six a day at most.

Want to know the moment your favourite newsroom publishes? Turn on alerts for that outlet.
Turn them on
- Open the outlet's page on Rooted: tap its name or logo anywhere.
- Tap the Alerts bell beside Follow.
- The first time, your phone or browser asks to allow notifications. Say yes.
The bell turns green and reads Alerts on.
What you get
When the outlet publishes, you get one notification with its newest headline. If it publishes several pieces in an hour, they arrive together, as "and 2 more", so a busy newsroom cannot flood you.
Rooted never sends you more than six notifications a day across all your alerts and followed stories.
Turn them off
Tap the bell again, or go to You, Notifications, Post alerts and tap the outlet to remove it. The switch at the top of that page turns notifications off on this device altogether.
Alerts need a free Rooted account. Turn notifications on for each phone or computer you want them on.
